This volume contains the proceedings of the 30th Congress of the International Institute of Ibero-American Literature that took place in Pittsburgh in June 1994 with Cristina Peri as the guest of honour. This congress brought together writers, thinkers and professors from all over the world such as Roberto Fernández Retamar, Claribel Alegrìa, Ana Marìa Rodas, Antonio Cornejo-Polar or Tom McKechnie among many others who honoured us with their presence and generously contributed to this congress with their time and dedication.
