Topaz L'Amour is ecstatic - she's won a place at the Precious Gems Stage School! Topaz's new friends at Precious Gems have to deal with their own problems: Sapphire longs for her movie-star mother to take an interest in her life and accept that she doesn't want to go into show business. Ruby would love to perform but can't get over her crippling stage fright. And Topaz doesn't just have to cope with lack of experience and training - the scheming and ambitious Octavia Quaver, from Rhapsody's Theatre Academy, is doing her best to steal the limelight.
