Publisher's Synopsis

Written in rhyming verse the story is set in China, a long time ago. Yip Han Lo is a happy man with a wife, children and an ageing mother. He lives in a small hut and tends the rice fields for his master. While working in a paddy field up to his knees in mud he finds a beautiful pot. He gives it to his wife to store their best cooking rice. He soon discovers it is a magic pot that will make him very rich. Unfortunately, greed takes hold and things start to go wrong. He is cruel to his family and eventually he is left to bury his dead mother. Will Yip Han Lo be a happy, rich man or will his greed leave him alone and destitute.
