A rural Arkansas couple struggles against floods, invasion by millions of locusts and Revenooers trying to stop their moonshining, all the while they both suffer from their own personal problems. He was born with only one arm and was taken to strong drink. Her increasingly frequent episodes of mental derangement eventually resulted in her attempt to burn their four little children in their home, and eventual confinement in a mental institution.
