Publisher's Synopsis

William "Mac" MacLode is the division president of Fox Custom Cabinetry. Fox is part of the huge Wellbon - Smith Conglomerate. During the last six months of 1999 Mac is faced with more challenges than he has ever faced. Not only is he fighting a union attempt to organize his company, but he discovers a hostile takeover scheme against the parent corporation. If successful the plot would wrest control from the corporation's founding family, a family that has retained power through questionable practices for three generations. Mac discovers that the perpetrators of this plot are working within the corporation. There is no limit to the means that they will employ. The plan involves the blackmail of major shareholders including the founder's grandson. As the stakes become higher and events escalate, kidnapping and murder become necessary. The turmoil is enhanced by an illegitimate daughter's search for her real father and two romances, one that involves Mac. It soon becomes apparent that there is a mysterious and deadly third party involved with questionable allegiance. The conspiracy spans the country and touches both sides of the Atlantic. Mac is forced to choose sides as the battle escalates. The fate of the corporate empire and the future of the Fox Division are at stake. To preserve the company that Mac has dedicated his career, he is forced to revisit his past and make a dangerous alliance.
