Tiki

I woke up laughing one morning because Tiki, the miniature horse, was talking to me in my dream. Thus, Tiki became a story "Now, I've gotcha. Don't do that again," he scolded. "We have to go back. Now!" "Now I'm thirsty. Let's find water." Tiki neighed as he dragged Andy down another path. Soon Andy found himself and Tiki next to a small clear stream of cool water. By this time, even Andy had to admit that he was thirsty too. He looked around the area, and all he saw were huge trees and lots of ferns and bushes he knew nothing about. He looked upstream and was surprised to see that the stream came out from under two huge boulders. They must have been as big as a house. "Hey, Tiki, look up there. That's where the water comes from." "I don't care where it comes from. I just want to drink it." With that, they both leaned down to drink the water: Andy cupping the water in his hands and Tiki slurping it up with his lips. As they satisfied their thirst, the ground began to shake. The trees began to sway. "Uh-oh, what's that?" murmured Andy as he wiped his sleeve over his wet mouth. Suddenly the earth beneath their feet began to rise up in waves, and trees began to topple. Next came gunshot noises as rocks from the nearby hillside came tumbling down. Andy and Tiki stood still in shock and fear as their world changed before their eyes. Deer raced through the woods, as did squirrels, skunks, and mice. Nothing went untouched by the earthquake. Andy hugged Tiki around the neck. "We have to hide somewhere, or we'll both get hurt." As Andy was dragging a frightened Tiki toward the big rocks he had seen a short distance upstream, there was a massive explosion and thunderous roar as the big boulders were lifted up by the earth's force of energy. With such an expansion of energy upon the area, the trees around Andy and Tiki collided.
