Publisher's Synopsis
This collection of photographs records the history of the Anglican Church in southern China from the 19th century to the present day, tracing its roots to the early Anglican and Episcopal mission, and charting the subsequent developments in the Diocese (later Province) of Hong Kong and Macau. Philip Wickeri and Ruiwen Chen present the narrative through 177 images. The majority of the pictures come from the massive Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui archives, most of which have never been published before. This bilingual work may appeal to both members of the Anglican Church and researchers working in the field of Christianity in China.
