Publisher's Synopsis
An account of an immigrant Indian's experiences of England. The author first came to Britain as a student 25 years ago, to work as a town-planner, teacher and artist. He left India through frustration, as people were unresponsive to his ideas, but became disillusioned with the racial discrimination that blighted English society. Eventually, he had no choice but to immerse himself totally in his art and career. The book looks at both the author's wonder at some of the sights he sees - "a fat pink baby" - and his deep unhappiness at racial prejudice and his loneliness in a strange land.
