Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Three Roydon Families
Having for many years collected notes and evidences concern ing various families of my own or similar names in various parts of the country, the result was a bulky and somewhat confused accumulation. A valued friend, the late John Paul Rylands, F to whom I showed it, suggested that it would be interesting to have some sections reduced into a connected narrative. Hence the present volume, which contains the stories of three families - all of some note in their day though now, it would seem, extinct in the male line - for which the material was most abundant.
