This volume brings together three little-known plays that convey vividly the fascination with travel and exploration in early 17th-century England. The plays are: "Travels of the Three English Brothers" by John Day, William Rowley and George Wilkins; "The Sea Voyage" by John Fletcher and Philip Massinger; and "The Antipodes" by Richard Brome.;In their different ways the plays are all dramas of wandering and adventure, which show an increasingly sophisticated response to the act of travel, both in the attitudes and behaviour of characters and in the methods used to represent it.
