Publisher's Synopsis

This report describes a series of tests to determine the degree of coupling between electromagnetic fields and the wiring looms of a motor vehicle.;A vehicle was placed on a turntable at an open-field test site previously calibrated for field strenth values. The vehicle was rotated in 15-degree steps over a full 360 degrees as it was illuminated by radiation from a biconical antenna placed 20 meters away. Current clamps on the vehicle wiring loom were connected back to the measuring equipment by means of a fibre-optic link. Horizontal and vertical polarizations of the transmitting antenna were used.;Three-dimensional graphs are presented showing the induced current per unit field strength for all angles of vehicle orientation to the incident radiation and for all frequencies considered. The results are analyzed and useful conclusions are drawn. Postage extra.
