The insatiable greed and power of corporations has corrupted the government energy task force to drill thousands of oil wells in oceans and continental areas. Nuclear waste went to rest in the heart of the planet, forests have disappeared, and global warming has brought catastrophic changes in the world climate. Now, in 2065, Dr. Lawrence Hughes, chairman of the International Scientific Council in USA, directs investigative projects with Dr. Margara Delvieso, a striking, intense scientist from Chile. Together they develop resources to sustain life in a new space module. They also develop and intense passion for each other. Suddenly, a deadly epidemic of unknown origins attacks the world population. The death toll rises by the minutes. Now, the ISC scientists must find the source of the epidemic or the world will perish.
