Have you ever received news that was so scary it left you speechless? Thinking I had bronchitis or pneumonia, I was not prepared to hear the words, "You are in heart failure." As a 31-year-old woman, wanting nothing more than to be a mother, I was left contemplating what my future would look like - if I had a future. My doctors said my greatest chance of survival would be a heart transplant. God was gently teaching me to trust Him despite how physically unbearable life became. Over time, I began feeling distant from God's love, especially preceding my first open-heart surgery. My prayers began to change from a daily plea for healing to a surrender of my future to His will.
