"This, your sanctification is the will of God" (I Thessalonians 4:3); and it teaches how you achieve "your sanctification" "...Remember the day of the sabbath to make it holy", or "sanctify it" (Exodus 20:8). This reveals the method of "your sanctification". Of which, God is himself the example, as validated solely by the Bible's 4th Directive (Exodus 20:8-11). And no: God did not "set an example" of "rest" the seventh day. What he actually did was to "set an example" of "sanctification", when he himself "sanctified" the sabbath day, divulging how you achieve "your sanctification", which "is the will of God" (I Thessalonians 4:3). But if you are convinced God "rested", and did nothing at all on earth's seventh day, as do our traditions steadfastly instruct, you cannot know what God actually did on either the seventh day or the sabbath day. For these both speak of the same day.
