Publisher's Synopsis
Everything that has life will always respond to environmental changes! Responding here means adjustment to survive a given environment! The environment does not lower its standards to your level, it's you to elevate your standard to match with that of the environment. Examples will drive home the message! Animals including human beings, and birds respond differently to different environmental changes. Too cold season demand that warm blooded animals adjust to warm temperatures! Birds and animals with this condition of life migrate to safer environment! Human beings on the other hand, arm their bodies with warmth - providing clothes as well as keeping the body active to increase the rate of metabolism thus constantly supplying the body with heat! Trees in drought season will shed their leaves to reduce the rate of losing water during transpiration! We live in the world that is rapidly changing. The world that was there ten years ago is no longer with us! This means that the methods of survival that were used ten years ago cannot be applied today, ten years later. The game of life has changed, rules of the game have changed and the players remain the same. We are in the world where technology is growing every single minute! Technology is making life easier but complicated too! As science grows, it grows along with both the positive and negative impacts on social-economic and political life. Food production, for example, has been made easy with the growing technology, but it has not done away with the problem of hunger. It has improved food production but poisonous food staffs are increasing on our markets! Science is growing but the jobs are depreciating; increasing rapidly the number of unemployed masses. Inventions like drones and CCTVs have replaced hundreds and thousands of people across the globe, rendering them jobless. But on a positive note, it has improved the security system! With the world of internet acquisition and processing and interpreting of information across the world has been made easy. You can now carry out your research on anything right away from your room, on your bed and table. On the other hand, plagiarism in academic world is increasing. Many young people have grown lazy! Many cannot do their own researches! They are busy cutting and pasting from the internet! Universities and colleges and other institutions of higher learning are graduating individuals with papers but ineffective in the field. How do you explain this paradox? Simple! The human mind has been replaced by artificial intelligence, the mind is reduced to mere warehouse or storeroom or gallery for facts! The mind is no longer a working tool, but an accumulation of facts. Our world today is characterized by people graduating every single day but no jobs! We live in the world where everyone is speaking about laws and strategies to protect the girl-child! Where is the place of the boy-child? Paradoxically, we live in the world that is biased, where everything is male dominated! Governments are male, businesses are male, and churches are male! It is a world where a girl child has little, except in lower positions of social and volunteer works that are paying lowly! Whereas this is the situation, the approaches to elevate the girl child, has been exaggerated to the extent that the boy-child has become a non-existent reality. This consistently raises the question: where is the boy child? Ours is the world where old men and women do not want to retire! In their late 80s are still holding active positions of power and influence! Where will the young graduates get the jobs? And when they retire, their positions are taken over by their own sons and daughters if not close relatives, as if they were hereditary! How do young men and women survive in such an environment? Think outside the Box gives tips on how to succeed in such environment.
