Berkley and Sir George Carteret to William Sanford, of the island of Barbadoes, in trust for Nathaniel Kingsland, of the same island, and conveyed the land lying between the Passaic and Hackensack rivers to a spring and brook. This included about acres, and was upon the condition that he should settle six or eight farms within three years and pay twenty pounds sterling annually.
