Publisher's Synopsis
Originally published in 1953, this book is Airey Neave's record of his experiences as a POW. Captured in France in 1940 he proved to be a persistent escaper and was eventually sent to Colditz, the "escape-proof" castle from which he was the first Englishman to escape. Airey Neave had a distinguished war record and later became Conservative MP for Abingdon and Opposition spokesman on Northern Ireland, before his death in a terrorist bomb explosion.
