There Once Was is a collection of rhyming stories. Most of them were written between 2004 and 2010. They are mostly stories about animals, cowboys, and dinosaurs. There are also stories about a boat, a pumpkin, a big foot, an apple, a raindrop, a speeder, a screamer, a gambler, and a drummer. There are some stories about eating meat, such as a rabbit who likes to eat beef, and a horse who wants to eat fish. Some of the characters in this book fall in love.
