Digital codes usually remain hidden from our perception. However, installations of contemporary art artistically reflect and iconically transform the status between immaterial code and visible appearance. This study not only offers detailed analyses of such artworks but also systematically presents the theory, aesthetics and aisthesis of code from an art-historical and philosophical perspective.
