Publisher's Synopsis
Barlowe, an African American in his forties, rents a ramshackle house in Atlantas old Fourth Ward, once known as the center of the civil rights movement. But when a white couple buys and renovates the house next door, fear and suspicion build as each day more whites move in, making changes to the neighborhood.
