Publisher's Synopsis
For ages, the Church in America, as in Britain, saw the wisdom in marking the dawning of each new year by coming together in special services to mark the blessings of God upon them and to renounce the sins of the year gone past. Only in recent generations has this practice, among many other such worthy practices, been abandoned. Sadly, most Christians now are completely unaware that the Church even had such a custom for so long. It is little wonder that the wisdom of our fathers is forgotten when the Father of Wisdom is ignored. He had said, "Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." (Jeremiah 6:16) This book is a testament to one church's effort to recapture the good ways of our fathers by marking each New Year with a special service set aside to the King of Heaven. Our prayer is that others will follow.
