Publisher's Synopsis

This is part of a three-year course for learners in intermediate schools who have already studied English at primary school. The course builds upon the foundation skills which young learners will have already gained and takes students through to intermediate level using carefully-graded activities.;The materials have been specifically designed for the Arab World. The four main language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening are taught through interactive activities, with new language being carefully presented, practiced and later reinforced through revision units and exercises. Importantly, the additional skill of learning to learn is also addressed, with students being encouraged to check and assess their progress at regular intervals.;The activity books provide language practice activities, as well as skills reinforcement material. Two short stories are included to encourage learners to read for pleasure, and the listening passages have been designed for individual work - an answer key and tapescript being provided for these.
