As they begin their fifth-year of studying magic at Abracadabra Academy, Maude Sinks and her best friends, Adair and Ben, come face-to-face with a mysterious girl, who claims Maude is the only one in the world who can help her get back home. The girl disappears before they can discover how to help her, and suddenly, they are thrown into their biggest adventure yet. With buzzing portals hurling them through space, Maude and her friends desperately try to help, even though their way becomes barred by a wicked wizard with two different-colored eyes. To their horror, they learn his eyes represent the gray of the past and the darkness of future. He is a Time Keeper, and he will stop at nothing to rid the world of what he calls "abominations"...like the mysterious girl. While they learn about the Death Spell, search for an old nemesis, and try to find home again, Maude and her friends have never faced a challenge like this. Their year of school brings them surprises and also terrible loss. Will they help the mysterious girl find her home in the future, or will they be lost forever in time?
