Publisher's Synopsis

The Witch in the Cupboard is the first of ten short plays that I wrote for my pupils. - Each one is designed for a class of thirty children, to be used in half groups. - For groups that don't have an equal number of boys and girls you can change girl characters to boys or vice versa. - If there aren't fifteen children in a group then it is possible for two characters to become the same person. - All the pupils are involved on the stage all the time. - The lines are short and easy to remember, and they give ample opportunity to develop expression. - The black and white illustrations in this book can be coloured by the pupils. The characters: Bob and Sandra are twins. Samantha is a pretty young witch. The witches and wizards: Theodora is fat. Merlin is old and shaky. Beatrix is shy. Illuminarus is cross. Cassandra is young and trendy. Albus is wise. Serena is giggly. Percy is naughty. Minerva is bad tempered. Argus is lazy and sleepy .Evenora is clumsy and forgetful. Salem is bossy. Each play lasts for about thirty minutes, and they can be performed by both groups on the same evening. You will find it interesting to see how two groups of children can interpret the same text in a very different way.In this book you will find the story and the play.
