Mirabelle is born to Antipathy and Gorgon, the most powerful witch and warlock in the land. All who used magic knew that because of the powers of her parents, the child would one day grow up to become the most fearsome evil witch the kingdom had ever known.
In order to save the kingdom from an awful fate, Matilda, Queen of the Fairies, intrudes upon the child's baptismal "cleansing of all that is good." She casts a spell on her, granting her the powers to resist her parents' teachings and determine her own destiny. But Matilda pays the price. The angry witches transform Matilda into an old hag and steal her soul, which Antipathy stores in a locket around her neck.
The very same day of Mirabelle's birth, Claudette, a sweet farm girl, was born. The two girls' lives are destined to intersect, as Mirabelle must decide whether to follow the ways of the witches or to carve her own path.
The WITCH AND THE BABY PRINCESS is an original prequel to Charles Perrault's classic fairy tale CINDERELLA. It tells the story of how a special child became blessed with her very own Fairy Godmother.
