This book is an attempt to cut through the confusion surrounding the variety of Italian wines available to the consumer and looks at grape varieties, DOC regulations and the many wine regions of Italy. The first section deals with work in the vineyard and the cellar, wine laws and reading a wine label. Buying, cellaring and serving of wine are also covered. The book then divides into wine producing regions according to geographical and climatic criteria, grape varieties and wine styles. The author, who is a Master of Wine, has previously published "Wine and Food of Italy".
