The Dark Winds of hell set in motion the evolution of an evil spirit. When Lux arrived in Chicago, Ajax Thorakis could feel her presence. The Thorakis centuries old tradition was nearing its completion and his right to reign the family was contingent on his pairing with Lux. Time is of the essence and he uses his clan of minions to begin a reign of terror when Lux opposes his advances. Left with only her twin brother to protect her she meets the immortal Adam Lark and her life takes a change. Adam vows to protect her from Ajax.
