The oceans are in peril. The numbers of microscopic plankton are diminishing along with the lives who depend on them. Asperini everywhere are determined not to befall the same fate, and many believe their only option is to mate with the nghozas to change their species and walk among them.
Morg, born to a shawl whose leader demands this of its ligphurs, wants nothing to do with it and seeks to find another way. She embarks on a journey to find the White Queen, a ligphur who can see into the great ahead. If anyone will know the best solution, it will be her.
