Publisher's Synopsis
When Flora MacDonald jumps from the balcony of her Edinburgh reform school she lands in the arms of Andrew Stewart. He is a sailor on leave and, touched by her plight, helps her escape. They fall in love but parted by war, Flora travels to Andrew's home on the Ingersley estate, searching for news. There she is taken under the wing of the autocratic mistress of the estate, Lady Campbell. As Flora and Andrew cling to their faith in one another, someone is trying to part them, for selfish, even murderous, reasons. They have a long, hard journey before the vows made under a willow tree can be fulfilled.
