The children's stories and adventures took place from the 1960s onwards, when there was hardly anything in the shops of the former GDR. The country still clearly felt the after-effects of the Second World War and suffered greatly from the occupying forces. The children always made the best of their situation and a lot of nonsense got out of it. Winny, who was known as the village terror or the wolf in sheep's clothing, was always full of nonsense and his favorite pastime was playing the stupidest pranks on other people.
