August Thornbriar never asked for trouble, but he had always been fascinated by water. When he and his friends learn to sail he is chastised by the Mouse Council who have been antagonistic to new ideas since the end of the Rat War. However, other forces are at play! When one ship goes missing, August along with his friends and family, soon find themselves fighting alongside the very people who ridiculed him.
