London became a socialist and his writings reflect this change in his political views. He is best known for his novels The Call of the Wild and White Fang. The Valley of the Moon tells the story of a man who is a teamster and ex-prizefighter and his love for a woman who is a laundry worker. They leave their deadening life in the slums of San Francisco and courageously search California for a place to farm.
