Publisher's Synopsis
Identical twins Stacey and Jennifer McHill celebrated their thirteenth birthday amongst family and friends at their parents lavish estate in Shreveport, Louisiana. The day was magical, but it ended in unspeakable violence. That night the McHill family became victims of two vicious home invaders. The intruders tortured the family for seven mind-bending hours before Mr. and Mrs. McHill had succumbed to their wounds. But somehow the twins survived. Severely traumatized, Stacey and Jennifer were admitted to the Louisiana State Psychiatric Center for intense therapy under the care of Doctor Susan Patterson who specialized in abnormal psychology. The twins, who were unresponsive for the first six months of their stay, were suffering from a rare form of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Dr. Patterson had argued that it would take a least a decade before the girls were ready to rejoin society. She too argued that the madness of that night will manifest itself in some unforeseen way without chronic treatment. Three years later the twins were sent to Harlem, N.Y. to live with their maternal aunt. And so it began... Three years to the day of that vicious home invasion and on the twins sixteenth birthday, the body of a young man is found on a rooftop of a housing complex in Harlem. The first responders were shocked at the manner in which the body was displayed. The following day the body of a lawyer is found in his Harlem apartment, then the body of a famous actor's son is found in a seedy motel in Queens, N.Y. And thus began a series of murders that will shake the city of New York to its foundation. Famed Detective Isis Williams is assigned to the case along with Detective Andrew Taylor who is new to homicide and who is secretly battling a debilitating sex addiction.
