The engravings were originally issued in 1944 to illustrate 'The Twelve', a poem by Leslie Harries, for Tywysydd y Plant, a monthly magazine for young people published in Swansea. The quality of these prints was compromised by the post-war economy-issue paper that was used at the time, the intricate detail of the blocks finally revealed here, accompanied by a new text, including biblical passages and details of the traditions associated with each of the original apostles.
