Publisher's Synopsis
Unfortunately, the justice system sometimes delivers only punishment, not justice. Such was the case with Jesus of Nazareth. He was brought before a Kangaroo Court of vicious, jealous men to be tried and convicted of blasphemy...the only crime for which they could legally condemn Him to death. In today's world, Jesus would have been assigned a Legal Aid lawyer for His defense. Instead, Jesus' only hope was the Pharisee Nicodemus, the Magistrate of the Sanhedrin Court. Nicodemus is convinced Jesus is innocent and vows to represent Him at Court. But too soon, Nicodemus is sidetracked and led astray by the schemes of the High Priest. Nicodemus is sent on a wild goose chase, captured by Roman soldiers, and left near death in the desert. However, thanks to his servant Jared and Jared's daughter, Nicodemus finds his courage and his true self. He rushes back to Jerusalem-but is too late to save Jesus. Yet, in many ways, his fantastic journey transforms him into a new person-a better Nicodemus-born again through the redemptive power of Jesus on the Cross.
