FIGHT THE VOID / SUSTAIN THE JOY As a result of extreme pain and agony while passing away in fear, young Kitty Sawyer is unexpectedly sent to the Threshold Shrine - an afterlife for chosen individuals whose souls live on as humanoid spirits called 'Welkengel' in order to regain happiness after traumatic deaths. Although everything seems benign at first, Kitty soon finds out that the afterlife cannot sustain itself on its own, and that it could disappear forever if all happiness is lost.
Destined to fight in order to keep herself and the world together, Kitty joins the arena against the malevolent Hucklers - spirits who, while having undergone suffering, have always made others suffer far more and to unacceptable degrees. With the help of her fellow Welkengel, will Kitty manage to recover from the pain of her past life while sustaining every spirit's last spark of hope, or will all joy wither away?
