Early work by Williams-Ellis, following his service as an Intelligence Officer in the Tank Corps during the War; written in collaboration with his wife, Amabel (ne Strachey, a cousin of Lytton et al.) As the authors discern, the newness of tank warfare required that, for officers, it was 'upon the spirit of prophecy alone that they must rely in their preparations' (p.19) - a far from ideal scenario. This was not the general binding, but others in the series can be found thus - it was presumably some sort of deluxe binding.
