Traversing the planets in a future world where mankind has expanded its reach far beyond the confines of Earth, Judith Denton seeks out an elite team for a rather unusual heist of the rather unusual Tarkesis Toy Factory. Former pirate captain, Anton Stark, is selected to lead the team. He is tasked with reigning in and uniting the conflicting personalities of Angel Lorre, a childish and annoying computer cracker, Edson Burnett, a simple-minded mercenary large enough to count for two, and Smith, a man who has spent more time outrunning the law than being sober. Not to mention Judith herself, who has elected to participate in order to keep an eye on them all. To receive their just compensations, uniquely tailored to their desires by the deviously clever Ms. Denton, they must band together to take Tarkesis by storm.
