Publisher's Synopsis
A boy spends the first nine years of his life living in a collapsed mine underground with his family. Naturally, nothing is normal for him as he grows up. When he starts his life above ground he encounters life as it usually is, strange, happy, brutal, all with the innocence of a boy who does not know what normalcy means. As he tries to reconcile himself with life, we find he is followed by misfortune after misfortune.
