Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from The Story of a Red Cross Unit in Serbia

This book has been written at the request of many friends Who wished to have some permanent record of the work done by our Mission, the anglo-serbian Hospital, or the Royal Free Hospital Unit as it is also called, during our year in Serbia. It may also be of some interest to the general public as a plain story of one of the many subsidiary enterprises undertaken by the British peoples during the Great War. We hope that the details of the sanitary pre cautions adopted to prevent the occurrence and spread of typhus and other diseases may perhaps be of use to others who may be called upon in the future to set up hospitals under similar conditions in foreign countries.
