Abrielle, an African American child with braids in her hair and bracelets to clutch, finds herself moving in with the white Graves family after her mother is arrested. She very much considered life with momma- over; and this was depressing until Marley Graves' tenderness makes living with the Graves more desirable. It appears Abrielle's relationship with the curious Marley Graves will last forever, as the two start a secret love affair.
