Publisher's Synopsis
Jack London's 'The Star Rover' was first published in 1915 and was one of his last novels to be published prior to his death in 1916. While 'Call of the Wild' and 'White Fang' are generally regarded today as American classics, 'The Star Rover' has never achieved the same level of popularity and sets itself apart from his earlier work. The book is a tale told by Darrell Standing, a university professor serving time in San Quentin for murder. In attempts to break his spirit, he is put in a tightly laced straightjacket and locked away in solitary confinement. But, as his body is trapped, he is able to free his mind as he enters an altered state. There, he is able to roam the stars and recall memories from past lives. 'The Star Rover' is a wonderful blend of science fiction, mysticism, and reincarnation, and takes the reader along for a voyage of discovery.
