In the third installment of the Dreamtrekker Journals, war has broken out in the Realm. The Exiled Princes struggle against one another as the Citadel faces its greatest peril: total destruction. Denizen hopes to raise a new Center in the wake of the Citadel's inevitable fall, inaugurating a new era of darkness and oppression. Paul Cook has barely caught his breath after dealing with the crisis of the Fragments when he finds himself leading the search for an artifact known as the Spear of Spheres. This artifact could save the Citadel. However, locating the Spear of Spheres requires a long lost key, and finding it will test Paul's abilities to the limit. Before long, he will realize the search couldn't be more urgent, for the fall of the Citadel could lead to the fall of his own world, unleashing terrible destruction around the globe. As if such a mission weren't difficult enough, Paul and his friends must do so in a dream-world torn apart by war, stalked by an ancient creature of nightmares, and opposed by both old foes and new. Living in two worlds is complicated...now more so than ever.
