Publisher's Synopsis

The story of the Good Klan. The Ku Klux Klan is one of the most notorious organizations in the United States, known for its bigotry, racism, and violence. But what is little known is that there was an organization that was founded to counter the Klan.

The Kounter Klan, formed by Frank W. Boykin (1865-1969) in 1924, consisted of blacks, Jews, Catholics and a few protestants and minorities who retaliated against the KKK. Frank went on to become a Congressman in Alabama for 28 years and purchased 800 green robes to outfit the volunteers.

This book embraces the side of Frank's life that people never knew about, including witnessing the warrior Chief Geronimo in shackles and socializing with presidents such as FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, and Kennedy, to name a few. Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman.
