Publisher's Synopsis
The journey described in this work was life changing for everyone involved. The birth of a child with a significant difference challenges parents to adapt to a new normal. The child comes into a loving family who has fears about doing something wrong that makes development even more difficult. A very good preschool teacher once told me these children are children first. Their disabilities are details. We all have differences. Some of us learn what they are early and that may give us an advantage. Down Syndrome, like many other disorders, causes the path to success to require frequent detours. The goal is the same for all children not just those with disabilities. We want our children to achieve their best self and to be happy with their life. Kyndal was able to find her own unique niche. She didn't consider herself disabled although she did realize she was different. She just considered it an asset. That's success!
