This version of Tchaikovsky's fairy tale ballet is retold by Jean Richardson. When a fairy is ignored at the Christening of a new princess, she bestows a curse on the child - that she will prick her finger on a spindle and fall into a deep sleep. Only a prince's kiss can wake her.
