More than anything, Kim wants to leave her steelworking town behind and break into show business. Her dream is to be a comedian, and she spends hours in front of a full-length mirror perfecting her routines. Kim has visions of getting an agent, taking acting lessons, starting out in commercials, and moving up to low-budget movies that win all the prizes in Cannes. So while her friends decide that the only way to be cool is to snare a boyfriend any boyfriend Kim decides on another, less orthodox strategy. She plots to befriend the most popular girl in school.
