The Skills in English Course is designed to build the skills required for lectures, tutorials, reading research and written assignments in English. Level 3 of the course is aimed at students with an IELTS level of 5.0-6.0.
The Skills in English Course Level 3 Listening DVD consists of a series of lectures and helps students to develop the following listening skills introduced by the Course Book:
- taking notes of stories and ideas;
- recognizing digressions;
- using abbreviations and signs in notes;
- recognizing two-sided signposts;
- distinguishing fact from opinion;
- understanding a speaker's argument;
- understanding dramatic language;
- and understanding pros and cons.
