David Sage has worked a lot of cases and rescued a lot of people from the Shimmering, the world between this one and the next, but he has never dealt with a case like this. Something has taken his memory, and all he has to work with is a picture of a little girl given to him by his trusted companion, Eddie, and some crazy dreams. Before he knows what hit him he is harrowed by beings that say they are angels, shot at by a priest, hounded by a tenacious detective, and visited by his long dead wife, all of them warning about the impending end and a being of vast horror known as the Terror. Then there is Cynthia, a former, now current, client. In a world turned upside down David does not know who to trust, and David wants to trust her, wants to love her, but there is something about her that makes him wonder what her true intentions are. Forces are aligning for a showdown, Armageddon is nigh, and David needs to figure out who he is, what he is truly capable of, and who is on his side before the world comes to a screaming end.
