Then came a new method of construction blending 3D printing and concrete laying which made the concept far more achievable and cost effective. The Chairman of the Airport Authority, Sandy Douglas, presented the old concept reinvigorated with this new technology but the county's response was still lukewarm. That is, until Global Warming, sea level rise caused FEMA to sponsor the San Diego Floating Airport project. The author blends actual history, science and technology that the reader can research on the internet, with imaginative scenarios and subplots to create an exciting hard science fiction story about the destructive forces of Global Warming, Global Politics, wealth and subterfuge. Sandy Douglas is caught up in a maelstrom of competing forces and interests as he tries to build the airport and manage it's operations.
